This site is officially dumb for not having the category I need to actually put this in. So DON'T LET THE "DIGITAL" FOOL YOU. This is a real media WATERCOLOR painting, with ACRYLIC highlights, on ILLUSTRATION BOARD. Some of the colors and contrast were adjusted in Photoshop, but that was it.
Yes, I used photoreference for this (that was pracically the assignment - did I mention this was for a class?) but I did not trace or lightbox or whatever this image. I looked at the pics online and I drew. The original size is 7"x14", but it is meant to be a postage stamp. So... I guess just sit back in your chair and look at the thumbnail to get the idea? And when you're done squinting, please FULL VIEW. You should be able to see actual watercolor application! True facts! I'd love comments, and oh yeah! DAVY JONES FOR THE WIN! |

I haven't made traditional art recently, so I have no idea why that happened, unless they were doing some site management or something while you were submitting it. Otherwise, that would mean they think that art is going the way of cable: completely digital. If that were the case, it'd practically be a weapon of mass destruction.
